bullet Use soft, chafe-free fabrics that wash easily and feel nice against the skin
bullet Put the seams where they will not rub or be bothersome when sweaty
bullet Create clothes with an eye on style as well as function.  Apparel does not have to be neon and shiny to ride a bike in it
bullet Make waistbands that sit lower, have no rough zippers or elastic, and do not irritate one's navel
bullet Use fabrics and materials from respected US and Canadian companies whenever possible.  Continue to have our gear sewn and assembled in the US for as long as we can hold out.
bullet Be sure that all Harlot clothing looks as good walking into the brewery for a post-ride celebration as it does on the bike

We at Harlot have never been big fans of thick stiff padding in bike shorts & pants.  On the other hand, shorts with no padding at all and seams through the crotch can be downright ouchy.  We dreamed of a seamless liner made of silky fabric with just a tiny bit of padding.  Something that wouldn't catch on the front of your seat or create an unsightly diaper appearance to your rear.  We imagined a liner that wouldn't bind or bunch your thighs or feel hot on summer days.  Then we said, hell, let's give it a try.  Our little liner is pretty simple, really, but it does everything that we had hoped for.  It's the perfect amount of padding for casual mountain and urban rides.  We call our liner the Beaver Comfort Zone (BCZ), because that is exactly what it is.
Try it and your beaver will thank you....
